At Knowsnack, we are reimagining how kids learn. We are reimagining how K-12 consumes textbooks. We transform the school curriculum into fun, crisp, and engaging summaries and present them in the form of digital flashcards.

>75% of the 247M K-12 population in India lacks access to quality content housed behind towering paywalls. The steep prices drive kids in Govt. schools to rely on free alternatives - textbooks and long-form content on platforms such as YouTube and Khan Academy.

Textbooks have not changed in decades, they are static, boring, and cluttered. In a world where amazing content is being rolled out every day in games, theatres, and OTT, textbooks do not stand a chance to appeal to my 90s’ generation, let alone kids today.

Long-form content on YouTube and Khan Academy has high search costs and is not tailored to the school curriculum. They can keep the driven front-benchers glued to their seats, but not the rest of the class who lacks the patience to search, choose and watch the long-form content without getting distracted. Instead, imagine if the kids are presented with knowledge they can consume like how they consume snacks.

Imagine, if the kids can come back home from school, sip on their evening tea, flip through topics, and finish their daily revision before they even finish their tea. Then, they will have the rest of the day to themselves to explore a hobby, take that nap, play a sport, hang out with friends, learn how to tie a knot, read a book or just sit back and daydream. Isn’t that the world we want?

To make this a reality, we need to attract the child’s short-lived attention to deliver a concept. To this end, Knowsnack bakes byte-sized experiences in the form of digital summaries. Our summaries carry thoughtful content, exciting illustrations and engaging questions in English as well as vernacular languages (Malayalam for now).
 

We are operating in Kerala with a focus on 5th, 6th, and 7th grade physics. We distribute our content to teachers who forward the cards to their students over WhatsApp. With our high-touch low-tech strategy, we cater to 10 Govt. schools and reach 1000 kids!

Our journey has just begun, the boat has just left the shore. We can row only so far on our own though. We need your backing to generate great content, reach more schools and make learning fun for millions of kids in India.
